If you are an employer, why not develop your own? There are benefits of supporting staff health and wellbeing to both individual employees as well as the business. These include improved personal health, greater work satisfaction and morale, increased productivity and reduced absenteeism.
Walsall Council is taking a positive approach to providing a healthy working environment to support staff in maintaining and enhancing their personal health and wellbeing at work. The health and wellbeing of staff is important and the council commits to providing a supportive workplace culture where healthy lifestyle choices are valued, encouraged and made easier. Creating a healthy environment at work helps staff to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing.
Walsall Council’s Health and Wellbeing Offer aims to make a commitment to staff through a variety of themes that will help provide staff with a healthy and supportive environment in which to work. The themes are as follows;
Each theme includes a Walsall Council offer (i.e. Walsall Council will…) and a set of example policies, initiatives and campaigns that are either currently in place or planned. These have been selected based on best available healthy workplace evidence, such as Thrive at Work standards recently developed through West Midlands Combined Authority.
