Welcome to the Walsall Community Litter Watch website

From Thursday 5 November group picks will be unable to go ahead due to current government advice.

We are still able to provide support for existing and new volunteers who wish to go out litter picking either by themselves, in their household groups or with 1 other individual from another household. During the current COVID-19 situation, there are some changes in how litter picking can take place, and in how we are able to support this.  Full guidance is provided in the two documents below, which you should read before undertaking any litter picking.

Key points to remember:
  •     Your safety is extremely important.  Please follow the guidance on safety, hygiene and social distancing contained within the Litter Picking Guidance and the Risk Assessment documents at all times.
    •    At this time, we are able to support litter picks by volunteers on their own, with the people they live with or with 1 person from another household.
    •    We are able to accept new volunteers who would like to borrow equipment, please fill in the volunteer form found on the community page.
    •    If possible please try to leave filled litter sacks by Walsall Council street or park bins.  However we are able to do location collection if there are no bins located nearby.
    •    Volunteer pickers are able to request additional clear litter sacks from us.

Thank you for your interest in cleaning up our community. We have lots of different ways that you can get involved!

  • Our first aim is to show how proud we are of our borough by working together to deal with the litter on our streets by supporting our fantastic volunteer litter pickers.
  • Our second aim is to clean up our highstreets with the support of local businesses.
  • Finally, our overall goal is to eventually stamp out litter by providing education sessions in schools, youth groups and community groups.
