Mid Year Admissions

 

You may apply for a place at any Walsall school during the school year for your child.

 

Your child must currently be in the current Reception to Year 11 year groups to make a Mid-Year Admission application.  You can list up to nine preferences on the on-line application and can apply for any Walsall school.

 

If you would like to make a Mid Year Admission application for a school place in another Local Authority school, you should contact that Local Authority's Admissions Team for details of their Mid-Year Admission Process.

 

A Mid Year application can be submitted for a child at any point between September 2019 and July 2020, however it is important to remember that at the end of each school term: Autumn Term - 20 December 2019, Spring Term - 3 April 2020 & Summer Term - 20 July 2020, all applications will be removed form the admissions database and the waiting lists will close.

IMPORTANT: It is the applicant's responsibility to re-submit their application or re-apply for any schools that they would like the child to continue being considered for.

 

If the child you are applying for has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and requires a place at a special school, applicants should contact the SEN Team on 01922 652871 rather than submitting an application via this portal.

 

If the child you are applying for is a Looked After Child (LAC) or in Public Care you should contact the LAC Team on 01922 652816 prior to completing this application.

Please note: The anticipated processing time for Mid Year applications is at least seven days and at busy times it will be longer.

 

The Admissions and Appeals Team can be contacted  by telephone on 01922 652585 between 8.45am - 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and 8.45am - 4.45pm Fridays or via email on midyear.admissions@walsall.gov.uk Admissions and Appeals are located at Walsall Civic Centre.

 

The School Admissions & Appeals Team is available to assist parents and carers with enquiries in the First Stop Shop (Walsall Council Civic Centre) between:

10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday

8:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday - Friday

The School Admissions desk is closed each afternoon.
