Sometimes in special circumstances roads are closed to allow sporting events or parades to take place.
The Safety Advisory Group (SAG) deals with all requests from interested parties who apply to hold events within the borough of Walsall. Some events require the temporary closure of the highway which is done with a legal traffic/highway order which can be obtained by contacting us.
The minimum consultation period for events is currently six weeks but we would prefer you to contact us at the earliest opportunity or ten weeks before the proposed start date.
There is no charge for any advice and assistance provided by SAG but any traffic management that has to be put in place will be at the organiser's expense.
