Dementia service

Having a diagnosis of dementia does not mean that you cannot lead an enjoyable life or that you will suddenly have to move into a care home or be dependent on others. People have dementia over a period of years and can still have an active and enjoyable life. You are the same person you were before you received the diagnosis of dementia.

The Living with Dementia guide has been written to give you information about dementia, how it is likely to affect you, what you can do to help yourself and where you can get help from other people. Understanding more about dementia can reduce some of the anxieties you may have and help you to plan for the future.
