Aldridge Airport is a large and well used public open space, nestled between Daisy Bank and Pool Green in the Aldridge Central and South ward. It was in active use as an airport from 1938, and still retains the aircraft hangar as a heritage feature. Nowadays the site uses the extensive flat ground as providing opportunities for football teams, model aircraft use, and is the base of an Outdoor Activity Centre. The southern boundary of the site borders Hay Head Wood; and management of the area allows for an unmown strip providing valuable habitat for biodiversity.
Parking is available to the site from two dedicated car parks, off Longwood Lane and Bosty Lane. The postcodes for these are WS4 2JS and WS9 0QQ respectively, with the latter also being the closest car parking for the Outdoor Activity Centre.
Other green spaces close by include Park Lime Pits Country Park, Cuckoos Nook and the Dingle, Hay Head Wood, and Walsall Arboretum
Site access for the car park is via Bosty Lane, B4154.
