Strategic Leadership Team
The Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) is the Council's senior officer leadership forum. It brings together the Chief Executive and senior leaders to provide collective leadership of the organisation, promote a One Council approach, and ensure the Council is focused on delivering its priorities for residents.
Governance position
The Strategic Leadership Team is an officer advisory forum and does not form part of the Council's formal decision-making structure established through the Constitution. Decisions remain the responsibility of officers exercising their delegated authority or the appropriate formal decision-making body.
The Strategic Leadership Team will focus on:
- Corporate priorities and organisational performance
- Place leadership and the Council's role within the borough
- Long-term financial sustainability and strategic resource planning
- Workforce strategy, organisational capacity and leadership development
- Resident outcomes and service improvement
- Organisational culture and values
- Partnership working across the public, private and voluntary sectors
- Transformation, innovation and continuous improvement
- Communications, emerging issues and horizon scanning
- Cross-Council collaboration and reducing duplication
Technical advisors attend as and when required.
