Residents' survey 2025
We’ve sent a survey to 10,000 homes in Walsall. Only the people who get the survey can fill it in.
We conduct this survey every other year. It helps us listen to what people think and identify areas for improvement.
What to do if you’ve received a survey
Participation is voluntary, but we want as many residents (aged 16+) as possible to take part. This is so the results represent the borough fairly.
If you receive one, please follow the instructions and try to do it online before the closing date.
Completing the survey
The survey is open until 5 September 2025. If you get one, you can fill it in online or use the paper copy you received.
You'll need your survey ID to continue. You'll find this on your invitation letter.
The survey covers:
- satisfaction with the local area
- feeling safe and community cohesion
- what’s most important and needs improving in the local area
- housing needs and aspirations
- access to jobs
- health
- council spending priorities
- satisfaction with how the council run things
- customer experience
- optimism for the future of children and young people
- what has improved since 2022
Help to complete your survey
You can email BMG Research or phone them on 0800 358 0337 if you:
- have lost your survey or ID number
- require an alternative format, such as larger print
- need support to complete it in a different language
- need anything else related to the survey
What happens next
The results of the survey will be used to make services better and track progress against our Council Plan and the Walsall 2040 vision.
For every survey we get back, BMG Research will donate 50p to Walsall branches of the Black Country Food Bank (max £750), so your response will make a real difference locally too.
We’ll share the results in autumn 2025 and explain how we’re going to address any issues.
Why you’ve received a survey
BMG Research picked 10,000 homes at random so everyone had a fair chance. This helps us get a good mix of people from all over Walsall borough. It’s cost-effective, and means we can trust the results and use them to inform the decisions we make.
We’re committed to listening to and acting on your views. They help us to:
- keep improving
- deliver excellence
- reduce inequalities
- improve life chances for all
