Sexual and reproductive health

Sexual and reproductive health is a part of your overall physical and mental health. It is important to look after in just the same way.

This means avoiding sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unwanted pregnancy, through safe sex. It also means using the services that are available to help you.

Everyone living in Walsall borough can get free contraception, and testing and treatment for STIs. These services are available from pharmacies, specialist Sexual Health service clinics and GPs. All services are completely confidential.

Good sexual health

There are a range of methods of contraception available free on the NHS including condoms, pills, coils and implants.

Which method works best for you depends on a number of factors, including your age, whether you smoke, your medical and family history, and any medication you’re taking.

The first step to looking after your sexual and reproductive health can be to get more information.

You can get reliable sexual and reproductive health information from the NHS.

If you're under 25 years old, you can also get sexual health and wellbeing advice for young people from Brook Health and Wellbeing.

Emergency Contraception

We recommend that you phone the pharmacy first to check that a registered pharmacist will be on duty when you arrive for your emergency contraception.
