Report a taxi concern

Information icon What to do in an emergency:

If there’s a danger to life, threat of violence or a crime in progress, call 999

A taxi concern is a non-urgent complaint about a taxi or private hire driver, vehicle, or service. If you’re concerned about safety, overcharging, poor service, or operating without the correct licence, you can report it.

What you can report

If the taxi has a Walsall Council license plate, you can tell us about problems with:

  • taxi driver behaviour
  • taxi vehicles
  • taxi bases (for example, you were overcharged)
  • accessibility (for example, the driver refused to transport your wheelchair or guide dog)

Before you begin

To report a taxi concern, you will need to tell us:

  • what happened
  • where and when it happened
  • who was responsible
  • if you’ve reported it to anyone else (include reference numbers, if you have them)

It will also help if you can provide:

  • vehicle registration number
  • taxi licence plate number (usually displayed on the rear of the vehicle)
  • a description of the driver

You can also provide photos or recordings, if it is safe to do so.
