Overgrown vegetation (hedges, trees and other plants) from private land, including in gardens, can cause problems. It can block pavements, paths and road signs, and damage property. It can make it difficult for wheelchair users and other pedestrians to get around.
It’s the landowner’s responsibility to cut back vegetation to remove the obstruction.
What you can report
You can tell us if an overgrown hedge, tree, shrub or any other plant from a private property in Walsall is blocking a:
- road
- path
- street sign
- street lighting
Before you begin
To report overgrown vegetation, you will need to tell us:
- where it is
- what it’s blocking or obstructing
You'll also need to attach photos or other supporting evidence to your report.
If you think any wildlife (such as nesting birds) could be affected, you can let us know.
