Walsall Council has commissioned MEL Research to administer the 2023 employee survey.
Walsall Council has passed either your work email or home address to MEL Research for the purpose of administering the survey. Those with a walsall.gov.uk email address will be sent the survey via email, whilst everyone else will receive theirs in the post. MEL Research will only use your contact information for this reason and will permanently delete it on completion of the project.
MEL Research is bound by the Market Research Society Code of Conduct to ensure that all survey responses remain confidential and at no time will individual responses attributable to a single member of staff appear in any data or reports provided to Walsall Council.
Your questionnaire carries a unique ID number. This will only be used by MEL Research to send reminders to non-responding staff members. At no time will anybody outside of MEL Research know who has and hasn’t responded to the survey. Your ID number, name or address will not be linked to your answers.

The survey asks a few personal / sensitive questions about you. Whilst answering these questions is voluntary, you are encouraged to answer these questions as they help us better understand the views of different groups of people.
The survey is looking to pull out trends in views, not to highlight those of individuals or small groups of staff. To ensure confidentiality, data will not be analysed where there are fewer than 10 respondents in a group/category.
Any open text comments provided will be proof-read by MEL Research, who will, in line with the Market Research Society Code of Conduct, make every effort to remove information that may identify someone. Please note that comments may be reported back as they are written, so please avoid including identifiable information in any comments you make. Any anonymised comments submitted may be published.
MEL Research will analyse the survey results and produce written and graphical reports and summaries of the results which will be given to Walsall Council and also made available to staff.
MEL Research will pass anonymised raw data to Walsall Council for the purpose of additional analysis.
On completion of the project MEL Research will permanently delete all contact information used to administer the survey.
