Willenhall Market set for exciting new look as modernisation plans get underway

Willenhall Market is set for an exciting transformation, with work due to begin soon to create a more modern, welcoming and sustainable market for traders and visitors.
The improvements will see the market’s existing temporary stalls replaced with a new courtyard-style layout featuring 12 permanent stalls, complemented by newly fabricated, fully branded pop-up stalls.
The new stalls will provide a more consistent and attractive look for the market, with a unified Willenhall Market identity helping to create a stronger sense of place.
The permanent stalls will also provide traders with improved facilities throughout the year, including during the winter months, while the new pop-up stalls will provide flexibility for additional traders, seasonal businesses and special market events.

By investing in new permanent stalls alongside flexible pop-up spaces, we can create a market that is able to attract new traders while supporting those who are already part of the market.

The improvements will also address practical issues with the current temporary arrangements, creating a safer environment with improved stall structures and reducing potential trip hazards and problems caused by stalls being affected by poor weather.
The project is being funded through the UK Government’s Community Regeneration Partnership (CRP) funding, which is supporting projects designed to strengthen local communities and economies. The improvements form part of wider investment and regeneration taking place across Willenhall.
Work is expected to begin on 1 September 2026 and will take place in phases, with the market continuing to operate throughout the improvement works. Further information will be provided to traders and visitors as the work progresses.
The new-look market will also be supported by a dedicated team of Market Operatives, helping to ensure the market is well managed and provides a welcoming experience for visitors and traders.
