What’s on at Walsall’s Best Start in Life Family Hubs - April – June 2026

There is plenty to do for families in Walsall this spring with a jam-packed schedule of fun, learning, and support sessions at Walsall’s Best Start in Life Family Hubs.
There are four family hubs and nine community hubs across the borough welcome to families who want to enjoy free activities, meet other like-minded local families, or speak to professionals about support they may need.
The Hubs deliver activities all year round and form part of the We Are Walsall 2040 vision to be a child-friendly borough and give children and young people the best possible start in life.
What’s on between April and June 2026?
Have fun: Early years development and play
- Stay & Play, Peep Stay & Play, Storytime, and Magical Moments - sessions supporting communication, early learning and bonding.
- Little Einsteins - a 5‑week programme focused on baby brain development.
- Chill & Chat Stay & Play - a relaxed meet-up offering advice from professionals including oral health, nursery funding and whg.
- Develop and Thrive - a group for parents and children to attend who are worried about their child’s development.
Get support: Support for babies, toddlers and new parents
- Baby Massage - programmes across all hubs, including dedicated Baby Massage for Dads groups.
- Bump to Baby, HENRY Preparation for Parenthood, and Triple P Baby - courses for expectant and new parents.
- Breastfeeding Support Groups - at every hub with no need to book.
- Introduction to Solid Foods - workshops delivered by health professionals.
Just for Dads - Dad-focused sessions
Walsall continues to champion support for fathers and male carers through:
- Dads Stay & Play sessions (weekends and week days)
- Dads 4 Dads – peer suppport groups
- Dads and Tiny Rangers
Specialist support
- Speech & Language Therapy drop‑ins
- Tots Talking- small-group support programmes
- Secure Beginnings - counselling for parents with children under two
- SENDIAS information sessions - for parents of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities
- The Supported Waiting Parent Network - supporting families awaiting specialist appointments

How can I book activities?
Best Start in Life Family Hubs have rolled out a new, easy-to-use system for families with children under 5 to book activities and subscribe to find out about information and events happening in their local area.

The new system has been rolled out following feedback from families who have asked for easier ways to find out what’s on and what their nearest Family Hub can offer.
Registration takes approximately a few minutes, and you only need an email account to get started.
