The free event, held on Saturday 26 September, transformed Walsall Town Hall and the surrounding town centre into a vibrant celebration of creativity, with activities taking place throughout the day.

The event was delivered by Walsall Council and produced by Bostin’ Creative who put together a dynamic programme of local creative organisations, artists, makers, performers and community groups.

“ It was fantastic to see Walsall town centre buzzing with creativity as thousands of people came along to enjoy MakerFest.

The event was a brilliant showcase of the incredible talent we have across our borough.

I’d like to thank everyone who played a part in making the day such a success, particularly our partners at Bostin’ Creative, the volunteers and all the local creatives who gave their time and talent.
“

Councillor Nicky Barker, Deputy Leader of
Walsall Council

“ We were thrilled to see so many people come along to MakerFest. Audiences danced with us in the streets and explored home made creativity in two of Walsall’s most beloved venues.

From the performers and workshop leaders to the makers, volunteers and community groups, so many talented people came together to create something very special. We’d like to thank each and every person for their contribution. It was a brilliant day and celebration of Walsall’s creative spirit.
“

Emily Summers, Artistic Director at
Bostin’ Creative

The event featured more than 100 performers, alongside 23 local makers, 20 free workshops and the support of 10 volunteers who helped make the day possible. From live music, dance and street performances to hands-on workshops and a bustling Makers Market, there was something for people of all ages to enjoy.

Visitors were able to discover local artists, crafters and designers at the Makers Market at The Crossing, while the Town Hall hosted a packed programme of creative workshops; giving people the chance to try something new and get involved, whilst enjoying live music, coffee and homemade cakes from Walsall’s The Table.

Performances took place across the town centre, showcasing a wide range of local talent and creative organisations.

The success of this year’s event follows previous MakerFests in Walsall and continues the partnership between Walsall Council and the borough’s wider creative community.
