Walsall Growth Zone investment set to unlock new jobs and business growth
Published on
Walsall Council has signed an agreement with Total Developments to support the delivery of a major new employment scheme within the Walsall Growth Zone, unlocking significant inward investment, new jobs and economic growth for the borough.
The agreement, signed in September 2026, will provide funding towards the enabling and infrastructure works required to bring forward more than 422,000 sq ft of high-quality industrial and logistics floorspace, creating over 600 new jobs.
“ This is fantastic news for Walsall and a major step forward in realising the ambitions of the Walsall Growth Zone. By investing in the infrastructure needed to unlock this site, we are creating the conditions for new businesses to invest, grow and thrive in our borough.
The development will bring hundreds of new jobs, high-quality employment space and increased business activity, helping to strengthen our local economy and create opportunities for residents “
“ Walsall is a compelling location for industrial and logistics investment, with excellent connectivity across the West Midlands and strong underlying demand for high-quality commercial space.
Our decision to invest in our development off Bentley Lane reflects the strength of that demand and the opportunity to deliver best in class, well-connected space for businesses looking to grow and expand.
We have also welcomed the excellent collaboration with Walsall Council through the Growth Zone programme helping to unlock vital additional development funding. Collaboration between the council and the private sector is essential to help unlock investment, supporting new employment and ensuring Walsall continues to build on its position as an important location for industry and logistics.
We’re proud to be investing in Walsall and look forward to seeing the development make a positive contribution to the local economy “
The Council's investment into Total Park is being funded through its Growth Zone mechanism, using future business rate retention on designated sites. The council's funding is being complemented by further investment from the WMCA during the construction phase.
The Walsall Growth Zone offers direct access to M6 junctions 9 and 10 and the Black Country Route and presents a prime location for industrial and logistics businesses.
The development of Total Park builds on the momentum already established through SPARK, which is delivering 620,000 sq ft of employment floorspace through a collaborative partnership between Walsall Council, HBD, Feldberg Capital, the WMCA and Homes England. Further opportunities will be brought forward on the remaining Growth Zone sites at Anson Road, Tempus Ten, Gasholders and Iron Park for strengthening Walsall's position as a premier location for business, logistics and advanced manufacturing in the West Midlands.
