Volunteers help refresh Pleck Park

Volunteers have helped give Pleck Park a fresh new look ahead of this year’s Green Flag Award judging.
The project saw six volunteers spend time restoring park furniture across the site, helping to improve the appearance of one of Walsall’s most valued green spaces.
The work was supported by a donation of paint from Crown Paints, with the work delivered through Walsall Council’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. This was carried out ahead of Pleck Park’s Green Flag Award assessment, which recognises well-managed parks and green spaces across the country.
In total, 14 park benches and two picnic benches were sanded, prepared and repainted, transforming weathered seating into welcoming spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy.
These improvements form part of wider efforts to maintain high-quality parks and green spaces across the borough. Well-maintained parks support community wellbeing, encourage outdoor activity and help create a sense of pride in local neighbourhoods.
“ Projects like this help ensure our parks remain welcoming, attractive and enjoyable spaces for residents and visitors. The improvements made at Pleck Park demonstrate the positive impact that volunteering and partnership support can have on our green spaces. “
