Three fly-tippers issued with £400 Fixed Penalty Notices

Published on

Three people have been issued with £400 Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) following separate fly-tipping incidents across Walsall.

CCTV Footage of flytipping

Council officers investigated fly-tipping incidents at Coppice Lane, Woodwards Road and Springvale Street, where household waste had been illegally dumped. In each case, those responsible were interviewed and made full and frank admissions to the offences.

The enforcement action at Springvale Street follows a major council clean-up in February 2026, where 29 tonnes of illegally dumped waste was removed from the area, at a cost of more than £11,000.

CCTV was installed following the operation to help deter further offences and support enforcement activity. The latest Fixed Penalty Notice demonstrates the council's continued commitment to preventing fly-tipping in the area and taking action against those responsible.

In each case, investigations led to the offenders being identified and interviewed. Following full admissions, £400 Fixed Penalty Notices were issued.

“ Clearing fly-tipped waste is only part of the solution. Taking action against those responsible is how we help prevent it from happening again.

“The enforcement action at Springvale Street demonstrates that we are following through on our commitment to protect our communities. Alongside ongoing monitoring and CCTV, we will continue to investigate offences and use the powers available to hold offenders to account.

“We would encourage residents to continue reporting incidents so that action can be taken against offenders and our neighbourhoods can be kept clean and safe. “

Councillor Ian Benton, Portfolio Holder for Street Scene and Enforcement

Residents can report fly-tipping online via the council's website or by calling 01922 653355.

All income from Fixed Penalty Notices is reinvested into enforcement activity and environmental services to help keep Walsall clean and safe.
