Steve Cradock to visit Walsall Arena as part of solo tour
Published on
Walsall Arena & Arts Centre will host musician Steve Cradock on Friday 23 April 2027, as part of the additional dates added to his Travellers Tunes solo tour.
Cradock, a founding member of Ocean Colour Scene (OCS), has expanded the tour due to popular demand. The 2027 schedule will begin in Bude, Cornwall in February and conclude at Union Chapel, London, on 25 April.
The artist began touring earlier this month and several dates have already sold out, including two nights at the Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room.
The tour accompanies Cradock’s new book, Travellers Tunes, which reflects on his career. As part of OCS, he contributed to well‑known songs including The Riverboat Song, Hundred Mile High City and The Day We Caught the Train. The band achieved double‑platinum status with the album Moseley Shoals.
Hundred Mile High City was also featured in the 1998 film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
Formed in 1989 by Steve, Simon Fowler, Damon Michela and Oscar Harrison in Solihull, OCS went on to have five top 10 albums and performed at the 1996 Knebworth Park concerts. Cradock has also performed extensively with Paul Weller since 1992 and joined The Specials in 2014.
The 2027 Travellers Tunes tour will include music from OCS, material from Cradock’s solo work, and discussions about topics of interest to audiences.
“ Walsall Council is delighted to welcome Steve Cradock’s to Walsall Arena & Arts Centre, as part of the additional dates added to his 2027 Travellers Tunes tour. Including this event within the venue’s programme supports the continued delivery of a varied schedule of cultural activities for residents. “
“ I am having a brilliant time on the road right now and when the opportunity to do it all again next year, I couldn’t refuse. “
Tickets are now on sale, starting at £30 and can be purchased from the Walsall Arena website or by calling the Box Office on 0300 555 2898.
