Fly tipping and pollution

Residents invited to speak with fly-tipping officers in latest ‘EnviroCrime’ visit

Published on

Residents in Birchills have been invited to meet and chat with Walsall Council's fly-tipping education and enforcement officers.

Envirocrime Trailer

The officers will hold an EnviroCrime Roadshow, bringing along the EnviroCrime trailer on Wednesday 28 May 2025.

The roadshow will take place at Wharfside Properties in Birchills, from 1pm to 3pm.

This visit is part of the council's EnviroCrime project, which involves officers patrolling local communities, investigating incidents of fly-tipped waste and litter, identifying the responsible parties, and addressing the root causes through education.

The aim of the roadshow is to educate the public and local groups on maintaining cleanliness, while offering the opportunity to address any concerns.

“ These roadshows offer our residents the opportunity to get some advice and to highlight issues they are aware of so we can take action.

“We welcome any information residents have that may help us keep our streets clean, as they know their areas and communities best.

“The trailer also serves as an information hub where residents can get details about the council's bulky waste collections, household waste recycling centres (HWRCs), and other related services. “

Councillor Pardeep Kaur, Portfolio Holder for Street Scene

On the day, officers will also be available to discuss how locals can help improve street cleanliness and promote proper waste disposal practices.

The council encourages anyone with information to speak to the officers during the visit, so we can gather important information from residents regarding local concerns, fly-tipping hotspots, or environmental issues in the area.
