Performers and activities announced for Walsall MakerFest 2026

Building on the success of previous MakerFest events, Walsall Council is helping bring the borough’s creative spirit to life once again as performers and activities are announced for this year’s free festival.
Produced by Bostin’ Creative, MakerFest takes place on Saturday 26 September 2026. From 12pm to 4pm, the free festival will bring music, dance, performance, a makers’ market and street food to Walsall town centre for a day of creativity and family-friendly fun.
The line-up showcases talent from across Walsall and the wider West Midlands, with performances and activities taking place throughout the day at the Walsall Town Hall, The Crossing and on Darwall Street.
The opening celebrations will begin outside the Street Stage at The Crossing, hosted throughout the day by presenter Hannah Brockley, before progressing to Walsall Town Hall, which opens at 12.45pm. This spectacular celebration will feature MISFITS Music Birmingham Drum Battery, Ultimate Bhangra, Impact Samba Collective, Brownhills Musical Theatre Company and Autin Dance Theatre’s Brimstone the Dragon.
Performances on the Street Stage will continue throughout the afternoon, with local groups including Walsall Music Service, Brownhills Musical Theatre Company once again, Walsall Academy of Dance, Voices of Hope - Fostering Choir, Aldridge Musical Comedy Society and Bhangra Bounce with Sohan Kailey. Visitors can then end the day with a dance at the Bostin’ Disco.
Visitors can also look out for colourful creations from Walsall Creative Factory and Autin Dance Theatre’s Brimstone the Dragon, who will be found roaming around The Crossing and Darwall Street three times throughout the day.
Inside Walsall Town Hall, The Table - Live! will create a one-day-only café experience, serving coffee and homemade cakes alongside live music curated by the Table Team and presented by James Clark. The café will run from 12.45pm to 4pm.
The Town Hall floor will also become a creative playground with the Town Hall Takeover, featuring hands-on, family-friendly workshops where visitors can make, create and take part. Activities include clay, crafts, a giant drawing machine and more. The drop-in sessions will run from 12.45pm to 4pm, giving imaginations plenty of room to run free.
Over at The Crossing, the makers’ market will showcase work from local creators, including jewellery, ceramics, fashion, fossils, crochet, cakes and more. Running from 12pm to 4pm, visitors can browse unique handmade products while enjoying poetry and live music on the Makers’ Stage.
No festival would be complete without something tasty to eat. MakerFest Mouthfuls will take over Darwall Street with a selection of street food, from pizza and gourmet burgers to delicious ice cream.
