MakerFest 2026 set to return to Walsall town centre this September

One of Walsall's most creative and colourful events is set to return this autumn, with MakerFest 2026 set to return to Walsall town centre on Saturday 26 September.

Following the success of previous years, residents and visitors can once again look forward to a day packed with creativity, innovation and hands-on experiences, celebrating the borough's community of makers, artists, creators and independent businesses.

Walsall Council is also delighted to announce that Bostin’ Creative Arts & Theatre C.I.C has been appointed as the lead delivery partner for this year's event. Working alongside the council, Bostin’ Creative Arts & Theatre C.I.C will help shape an exciting programme that will bring together local talent, creative organisations, businesses and community groups to deliver an unforgettable day in the heart of the town centre.

“ MakerFest has grown into one of Walsall's most exciting community events, showcasing the incredible creativity, innovation and talent that exists across our borough. It is a fantastic opportunity for people to come together, discover something new and celebrate everything that makes Walsall unique.
We're delighted to be working with Bostin Creative to deliver this year's event. Whether you've visited MakerFest before or are planning your first trip, I would encourage everyone to save the date and join us in Walsall town centre on 26 September.

“ We are proud to have been appointed as the lead delivery partner for MakerFest 2026. I grew up in Walsall and Bostin’ are based here at the Walsall Hub. We were founded in 2018 have been celebrating Walsall for many years through film, creative projects and public events.
We know Walsall is bursting with creativity, talent and imagination, and we're excited to work with Walsall Council to create an event that celebrates that.
We're busy putting together a programme packed with incredible performers, interactive experiences, creative workshops and plenty of surprises for visitors of all ages.

Over the coming weeks, Walsall Council will be revealing more information about the event, including the full programme of activities, participating makers, entertainment, workshops and opportunities to get involved.

The Makers’ Market will return with stalls available for artists, crafters, designers, food artisans, tech creatives, and more. Alongside stall holder we are also looking for community groups, performers, choirs, craft facilitators, workshop facilitators, storytellers, poets, the event Is about showcasing the best Walsall has to offer. 

Applications are now open and can be submitted via this form.The deadline to apply is 21 August 2026, and successful applicants will be notified during the week commencing 24 August 2026.
