Five individuals taken to court for littering in Walsall

Five individuals have been taken to court for littering offences across the borough.
The cases were heard at Birmingham & Solihull Magistrates’ Court on 18 March 2026 and resulted in combined fines totalling £1,539. This follows four successful prosecutions in February, where combined fines exceeded £2,000.
Mr Zabar Hussain, of Stafford Street, Walsall, was convicted for depositing litter on 23 August 2025 in Bill Street, Darlaston. He was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £88 victim surcharge and £85 in costs, totalling £393.
Ms Tia-Rose Gleeson, of Alder Meadow Close, Coventry, was convicted for depositing litter on 27 August 2025 in High Street, Pelsall, Walsall. She was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £88 victim surcharge and £85 in costs, totalling £393.
Miss Abby Hodgkiss, of Parker Road, Wolverhampton, was convicted for depositing litter on 10 September 2025 in High Street, Pelsall, Walsall. She was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £88 victim surcharge and £85 in costs, totalling £393.
Miss Courtney Bullock, of Oval Way, Walsall, was convicted for depositing litter on 19 September 2025 in Park Road, Willenhall. She was ordered to pay a £96 fine, £38 victim surcharge and £85 in costs, totalling £219. The defendant's guilty plea was taken into account.
Miss Sade Annick Woolery, of Stourbridge Road, Dudley, was convicted for depositing litter on 24 August 2025 in Reedswood Way. The defendant's guilty plea was taken into account, and she was ordered to pay a £40 fine, £16 victim surcharge and £85 in costs, totalling £141.
A spokesperson for Walsall Council said, “Littering is unacceptable and can result in significant fines or cases being escalated to court.
“Revenue from fines goes back into enforcement activity, including investigations and action to tackle environmental crime across the borough.”
