Walsall Council has prosecuted two individuals for littering and fly-tipping offences.

Both perpetrators will now pay hundreds of pounds in fines for illegally disposing of their waste.
“ We are committed to keeping our community clean and safe, and tougher enforcement is a crucial part of that effort.
These incidents show the importance of our Community Protection officers and CCTV systems in maintaining clean neighbourhoods and holding offenders accountable.
These individuals have paid the price for dumping rubbish in our neighbourhoods, and I hope these fines deter others from similar actions.
This is another sterling effort from our enforcement team, and I would like to thank them for their superb work. “
On 23 April 2025, an individual was recorded on CCTV improperly disposing of a large glass fish tank on Stephenson Avenue, Walsall. The footage documented the perpetrator committing the illegal act of fly-tipping. When presented with the evidence, the individual acknowledged the violation and was subsequently issued a fixed penalty notice with a fine of £400.
In a separate incident, another individual was identified via CCTV footage littering half a bag of household waste on Spout Lane, Walsall, on 17 May 2025. The offender admitted to the act of littering and was also issued a fixed penalty notice with a fine of £400.
Both cases were handled by Walsall Council’s Community Protection officers through formal PACE interviews under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984. These interviews took place at the Walsall Council House on 25 June 2025.
