Residents are being encouraged to visit Walsall Council's EnviroCrime trailer as it returns to communities across the borough next week to help tackle fly-tipping and other environmental crime.

Between Monday 6 and Wednesday 8 July, residents can speak to officers about issues, find out more about the council's bulky waste collection service, Household Waste Recycling Centres and how to report offences.

The EnviroCrime trailer will visit:

Walsall town centre – Monday 6 July (Park Street)

Bloxwich Market – Tuesday 7 July

Brownhills Civic Square – Wednesday 8 July

Each event will run from 10am to 2pm.

The events form part of Walsall Council's ongoing EnviroCrime initiative, which takes a proactive approach to tackling environmental crime through enforcement, education and community engagement.

Alongside the trailer, the council's distinctive EnviroCrime car will also be out across the borough supporting enforcement activity. The vehicle plays a key role in investigating fly-tipping, identifying offenders and raising awareness of the consequences of environmental crime.

“ Environmental crime has a real impact on our communities, affecting the places where people live, work and spend their time.

"The EnviroCrime trailer gives residents the opportunity to speak directly with our officers, report concerns and find out more about the action we are taking to tackle fly-tipping and keep Walsall clean. We would encourage anyone passing by to come and have a chat with the team." “

Councillor Ian Benton, Portfolio Holder for Street Scene and Enforcement

Residents are reminded that fly-tipping is a criminal offence and can result in fixed penalty notices, prosecution and the seizure of vehicles used to commit offences.

Environmental crime can be reported online via Walsall Council's website or by contacting the council directly.
