Easter Holiday fun returns to Walsall Leisure Centres with packed activities for families

Families across Walsall are being invited to get active and have fun this Easter, as Walsall Council unveils an exciting programme of half term activities at its leisure centres.

Make a splash this Easter

At Oak Park Active Living Centre, families can enjoy floats fun sessions on 30 March, 1 and 8 April, and 10 April, alongside inflatable fun sessions featuring the “Exterminator” assault course on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. 

Bloxwich Active Living Centre will also host floats fun sessions 30 March, 3 April, 4 April, and 6 April and its “Double Trouble” pool inflatable on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

At Darlaston Swimming & Fitness Centre, floats fun sessions will run on selected Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while Walsall Gala Swimming & Fitness Centre will offer family fun and floats sessions in both its brine and teaching pools.

Big Bounce returns

The ever-popular Big Bounce inflatable sessions are back for two special dates this Easter:

  • Friday 3 April at Oak Park Active Living Centre 
  • Friday 10 April at Bloxwich Active Living Centre 

Places must be booked in advance at bigbounceevents.co.uk/tickets.

Roller skating fun

Families can enjoy roller skating sessions across the holiday period:

  • Oak Park Active Living Centre: Wednesdays (1.30pm–3.30pm) and Saturdays (1pm–3pm) 
  • Bloxwich Active Living Centre: Thursdays (10am–12pm) and Sundays (10.30am–12.30pm) 

Sessions are suitable for all abilities. Tickets are £6.90 per person. Skate hire is available for £2 (cash only).

Get active with sports and camps

A range of activities will help children stay active over the break.

At Oak Park Active Living Centre, Albion football camps will run from 30 March to 2 April, offering coaching, games and tournaments for children aged 4 to 14, led by experienced coaches. Camps are available to children of all abilities aged between four and 14 years old, at a cost of £25 per day or £72 for four days. 

A range of indoor racket sports will also be available, including badminton, squash and table tennis, offering a great way to stay active whatever the weather.

  • Badminton courts at Bloxwich Active Living Centre and Oak Park Active Living Centre for £7.65 a court before 5pm, Monday–Friday
  • Squash courts at Oak Park Active Living Centre for £7.00 before 5pm
  • Table Tennis at Bloxwich Active Living Centre, Oak Park Active Living Centre and Walsall Gala (advance booking required)

Equipment hire is available at all participating centres.

Active Gymnastics & Trampoline 4-day camp holiday sessions is being held at  Bloxwich Active Living Centre, suitable for all children, regardless of ability level.  The sessions are hosted by British Gymnastics qualified coaches at a cost of £30 per day or £99 for four days) Bookings can be made here Holiday Camps — Active Gym

 

Mad Hatters Easter Party

Families can also enjoy a special Easter celebration at Oak Park Active Living Centre on Sunday 5 April from 1pm–3pm.

The Mad Hatters-themed party will include:

  • A crazy hat competition 
  • Arts and crafts 
  • Face painting 
  • Fancy dress competition with prizes 
  • Mini disco with a live DJ 
  • Chocolate tombola 

A café will also be open serving Easter treats and hot food. Children must be supervised at all times.

Residents are encouraged to book activities in advance to avoid disappointment and to check online for full details and timetables.
