Council Leader announces new Cabinet

Leader of Walsall Council, Councillor Mike Bird has announced his new Cabinet today.

We will do what is right for the borough, and for the residents and businesses we serve.

The team of councillors each look after a particular portfolio of services which have specific responsibilities.

Under the new Cabinet arrangements, Councillor Adrian Andrew and Councillor Mark Statham remain as Deputy Leaders.

The new Walsall Council Cabinet is:

Councillor Mike Bird – Leader

Councillor Adrian Andrew – Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Prosperous Places and Investment

Councillor Mark Statham – Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Education and Skills

Councillor Amo Hussain – Portfolio Holder for Internal Services

Councillor Gary Flint – Portfolio Holder for Culture, Health and Wellbeing

Councillor Adam Hicken – Portfolio Holder for Children’s and Safer Communities

Councillor Pardeep Kaur – Portfolio Holder for Housing Support and Resident Access

Councillor Keir Pedley – Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care

Councillor Suky Samra – Portfolio Holder for Street Scene

In addition, Councillor Jade Chapman and Councillor Gurmeet Singh Sohal will be Cabinet Support Assistants without portfolio, and they will support policy development, attend briefings and be a general conduit between Members and the Executive.
