Books to help residents to become more energy efficient now available in Walsall

Residents who want to become more energy efficient and save money can now access 17 different titles, filled with advice, guidance and learning.

As part of the Walsall Energy Action Project (WEAP), these carefully selected books are now available at different locations across the borough.
The selection of books covers a range of topics to help people who at different stages of their energy journeys. Amongst the books are, Practical Self-sufficiency: The complete guide to sustainable living today by Dick Strawbridge, The Sustainable(ish) Living Guide by Jen Gale and Green Living Made Easy: 101 Eco Tips, Hacks and Recipes to Save Time and Money by Nancy Birtwhistle.
The books form ‘Libraries of Inspiration’ and can be found at Ryecroft NRC, Brownhills Community Association, Bloxwich Community Library, Aaina Community Hub, Nash Dom CIC and Darlaston All Active.
“ We know people in Walsall are struggling with energy bills and the cost of living in general.
“This project helps bring much-needed information to our residents, while also giving people the opportunity to talk things through.
“As part of the Walsall Energy Action Project, weekly Energy Cafes are also being held where our residents can speak with one of the team and get advice. “
Energy Cafes are warm places where residents can speak with one of the WEAP team and learn about ways they can become more efficient, save money and keep warm.
The sessions are held weekly across six different locations:
Ryecroft Community Hub: Fridays, 10am –12pm
Aaina Hub: Mondays and Tuesdays, 10 – 12pm
Brownhills Community Association: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10am – 12pm
Darlaston All Active: Thursdays, 11am – 1pm
Bloxwhich Community Library: Fridays, 10am –12pm
Nash Dom Community Hub: Mondays, 10am - 12pm
The Walsall Energy Action Project is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund with the aim of helping local organisations support Walsall residents and communities to take action on high energy bills and the climate crisis.

The Walsall Energy Action Project is a partnership project between Ryecroft NRC, Aaina Community Hub Ltd, Brownhills Community Association, Darlaston All Active, Nash Dom CIC, Walsall Working For Change CIC and Walsall Council.
