Industrial installations

Some industrial processes and installations can pollute air, land and water within Walsall borough. To operate these processes, industrial and commercial premises need to have a permit issued by by the Environment Agency or the council.

The Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999 sets out the regulations industrial and commercial premises need to follow.

DEFRA issued two sets of advice for the council during the Coronavirus pandemic. These relates to permitted processes under the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2016.
