Health Through Warmth boiler upgrade scheme
We may be able to help you replace an old (15 years or more) or broken boiler.
Who can apply
You must:
- live in Walsall
- own your home
- be aged 80 or over
- have a household income of less than £30,000 a year (after tax)
You may also be eligible if you have one of the following health conditions:
- a breathing condition such as COPD, emphysema or chronic bronchitis
- cancer
- a terminal illness
- heart or circulation conditions, including heart disease or stroke
- diabetes (especially type 1)
- osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis that needs regular treatment
- severely reduced mobility
What funding you can get
- Up to £5,000 towards the cost of eligible work
- The home must be lived in by a family member as their main home for 5 years after the work is finished
- A land charge will be added for the full grant amount. The full amount must be repaid if the property is sold or transferred.
How to apply
You can contact us directly to apply for the Health Through Warmth boiler upgrade scheme.
You’ll need to provide proof of:
- your financial situation – for example, 3 months of bank statements (you can remove bank account numbers)
- home ownership and occupation – by completing an owner-occupier certificate
- your identity – such as a passport or driving licence
Funding is limited and discretionary and may be withdrawn at any time.
