Calculating your social care contribution
People who must pay towards the cost of care
If your assets are worth less than £23,250, we will calculate how much your contribution will be. The calculation for this is:
- savings and assets + income – allowances = your assessed financial contribution
This calculation is based on statutory guidance.
People who must pay the full cost of care
If you have savings or assets worth more than £23,250, you will have to pay the full cost of your care and will be self-funded. You can also choose to self fund your care.
If you choose not to tell us about your finances, you will be required to pay for the full cost of your care.
You can still get advice if you self-fund your care.
