The mobile cervical screening service gives eligible residents another way to access cervical screening closer to home.
The service is aimed at people who may find it difficult to attend a GP appointment. This may be because of :
- your working hours
- language or communication barriers
- transport issues
- caring responsibilities
- anxiety or embarrassment
The mobile service doesn't replace your GP screening service. If you're able to, you should attend your appointment when invited.
Cervical screening is one of the most effective ways to identify cervical cancer by identifying high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) and detecting changes before cancer develops. Find out about the NHS cervical screening programme.
