What to do in an emergency:

Licensing helps make sure businesses and services operate safely, fairly and within the law. A licensing concern is something that makes you think a licensed activity is not following the rules or is causing a problem.
What you can report
You can report a concern about a licensed business or activity in Walsall borough, such as:
- alcohol sales
- late-night food and drink businesses
- gambling venues
- sexual entertainment venues
- wedding venues
- street trading and pavement cafés
- scrap metal
- charity collections
We can investigate if:
- activities are taking place outside the approved hours
- conditions aren’t being followed
- a required licence is missing
- activities are taking place that are not covered by the licence
When to report a problem to the police
We’re not able to tackle criminal activity. This includes:
- drug dealing/taking
- fireworks being used between 11pm and 7am (except on Bonfire Night, New Year's Eve, Diwali or Chinese New Year) or in a dangerous manner
- illegal sex work, such as running a brothel
If you’re worried about criminal activity, you can:
- call 999 if someone is in immediate danger or a crime is happening right now
- call 101 if it's not an emergency
- report the activity to the police online (opens in new tab)
- contact Crimestoppers anonymously (opens in new tab) if you don’t want to talk to the police
Before you begin
To report a licence concern, you will need to tell us:
- the address closest to where the licence concern is happening
- the type of licensed business or activity
- dates, times and description
- if you’ve reported it to anyone else (include reference numbers, if you have them)
You can also provide photos and recordings, if it is safe to do so.
It would help us if you can check for a licence number and look up the licence status on the Premises Licensing Register (opens in new tab).
