Report a problem with a grit bin
A grit bin is a large yellow container of salt-grit mix used to melt snow and ice on roads and pavements. If a grit bin is damaged or empty, you can report it.
This form is not to request extra bins. Find out how to request a new grit bin.
What you need to tell us
To report a problem with a grit bin, you will need to tell us where it is.
A description and photograph of the problem will also be helpful. Only provide photographs if it is safe to do so.

If you're unable to complete the online form, you can:
- go to a Walsall Connected hub, where we'll show you how to use MyAccount
- phone the customer experience centre and we will take you through the process
If the map says the location is not managed by Walsall Council
Find out what to do if the problem is on privately-owned land (such as social housing land and non-council car parks).
You can also let us know and help us keep our records up to date if:
- you believe that the location you've identified belongs to Walsall Council and is not private
- you're not able to find the bin on our map
